Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Ingredients

500 g lean ground beef

4 tsp. ginger, chopped

6 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 package of mushrooms, chopped

1 chili pepper, chopped

Approximately 450 g Chinese Yet-ca-mein noodles

Sauce:

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup beef broth

1/3 cup brown sugar

6 tbsp. hoisin sauce

1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Topping:

4-5 green onions, sliced

Toasted sesame seeds

Preparation

In a small dish, combine sauce ingredients. Set aside.

In a large skillet, brown ground beef with ginger and garlic until beef is cooked. Add chili and mushrooms and cook. While the meat continues to cook, prepare a pot of water for your noodles.

Pour the sauce into the ground beef mixture and sauté in the pan for about 3 minutes to allow the ground beef to absorb the flavours.

Once your noodles are cooked, transfer the noodles to the ground beef mixture. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

Garnish with green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
